To get us excited for the release of The Addams Family animated film on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital, we received a fun package from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures/United Artists Releasing.

Now while I guessed some "The Addams Family" themed items would be in our box, I really wasn't prepared. There was a sword in the box. A sword. Now granted it was a toy type sword, but as any parent of a boy knows, giving them anything pointy means it immediately becomes a weapon. *sigh*

Which I guess fits since we were able to use the sword and other items in the box for an "The Addams Family" activity.

So what was in our box?

Now your probably wondering what is the purpose for this assortment of item. Well in The Addams Family animated film, there a scene when Pugsley has to do a Sabre Mazurka Dance during his coming of age party. It's a fun scene so we decided to do our version of it.




And so my son did. He danced. He leaped. He slashed with his sword. All while I kept a safe distance.

After his performance, I rewarded him with a hat...and the slingshot. Let be honest, I can't allow my son to run around with a sword (even a toy one). So the sling seemed a safer choice.


That was until he found some rocks and wanted to see how far he could "sling" them. Hopefully he wont hurt the trees and bushes in our neighborhood!
