Oshogatsu Japanese New Year's Events at Japan Society

After watching a riveting Japanese taiko drum performance, kids are invited on stage for a hands-on drum mini-workshop.

Families can then welcome the New Year with exciting and traditional activities like a live giant ink-painting demonstration, a New Year’s calligraphy workshop (kakizome) and postcard-making (nengajo) and can continue their New Year’s celebrations with take-home craft kits.
