Over the summer IMAX documentary films became available to stream exclusively on Hulu including “A Beautiful Planet,” “Pandas,” and “Superpower Dogs”, with more to come!

Note: This post is in partnership with IMAX, who invited me to the online screening. Views expressed are always 100% my own.

If you've ever seem an IMAX documentary film, then you know their amazing and perfect for families to enjoy watching together.

After receiving a cool #IMAXonHulu packaged filled with products from the different IMAX documentary films, we were invited to a special online screening for IMAX Superpower Dogs, followed by a Q&A with Judy Fridono, partner to Ricochet (one of the dogs featured in the documentary), of course my son and I attended.

“Superpower Dogs” was a touching documentary about service dogs and the special bonds they form with their trainers. The film also gave us an in depth look at what goes into choosing a service dog. Each dog has unique skills and personalities that makes them a good fit for some services.

Both my son and I enjoyed watching the film and learned so much about service dogs. So we looked forward to hearing Judy Fridono share her experiences about raising Ricochet and how they became part of the IMAX documentary!

How did you get into this line of work?

Judy Fridono: I'm a service dog trainer and I have a non profit that trains and raises service dogs. Ricochet was a brillant puppy and my goal was for her to be a service dog. However around 15 to 16 week age, Ricochet decided to stop training. So we struggled for about 1 year trying to get her back to where she was.

Then one day while at the beach, with a friend who was an adaptive surfer, I had this idea to have Ricochet and this friend both surf on a wave but on their own boards. Just to show what they had in common.

Judy Fridono: At one point Ricochet jumped off her board and onto the boys. So it was honestly Ricochet's idea. That day on the water, Ricochet showed me what she wanted to do. It was surfing and helping people.
