Can't get enough of the Jurassic World dinosaurs? Then get ready to see them in AR. Universal Pictures Home Entertainment (UPHE) has partnered with Facebook and Messenger to unleash sharable in-store and in-home augmented reality (AR) experiences showcasing the film’s notable dinosaurs.

The state-of-the-art AR experiences featuring different dinosaurs from the film, will debut on September 18th, timed to the film’s North American home entertainment launch, before rolling out around the world.

The largest retail effort of its kind for both partners, this is also the first integrated AR experience across the Facebook family of apps – specifically Facebook and Messenger.

Bring Dinosaurs To Life With AR | Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom on Digital and Blu-ray



On the day of the release, participating retailers across 18 countries will showcase, for a limited time, the eye-catching Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in-store displays that will include instructions on how to trigger an AR experience that bring the displays to life.

Shoppers scan a special QR code to launch the sharable AR effect that places the ferocious Indoraptor directly in their path, providing them with an up-close encounter with one of the newest dinosaurs from the Jurassic franchise. In the U.S. alone, this experience spans more than 17,000 stores across multiple national retail and grocery chains.



Available in millions of homes around the world, the in-home experience is activated off of a collectible insert within the product packaging using the Messenger camera. The experience unveils an interactive, baby version of the film’s Velociraptor hero, Blue.

The animated Baby Blue can be placed in any environment, and images and video of her behaving curiously, playfully, and aggressively can be captured and shared with friends.

Both the in-store and in-home experiences are compatible with iOS and Android devices. Users should utilize the latest version of the Facebook and Messenger apps.


SYNOPSIS

In Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom directed by J.A. Bayona (The Impossible, The Orphanage) and executive-produced by Jurassic titans Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow, Owen (Pratt) and Claire (Howard) return to Isla Nublar three years after the destruction of the Jurassic World theme park to rescue any remaining dinosaurs on the island from a catastrophic volcano that threatens to leave dinosaurs extinct once again.

Owen is driven to save his lead raptor, Blue, while Claire makes it her mission to preserve the creatures that she has grown to deeply respect. When the lava begins to rain down, they soon discover terrifying new breeds of ferocious dinosaurs along with a conspiracy that could threaten the entire world.

As we head towards the end of summertime, we're trying to squeeze in as much outside fun as possible, which included a "Back To School Hatchimals Bash" playdate in the park hosted by New Mommy Bliss.

We joined a few of our bloggers friends for a day of fun activities that included.....



Coloring activities for the adults and kids.


For the kids, Dominican cupcake decorating (and eating) along with some Mott’s Sensibles juice, which has 100% apple juice, coconut water and a splash of vegetable juice.


A few games of tag, red light green light and any other games the kids can make up.


Then we took time out to "hatch" new friends. This was SO fun. The kids were excited to discover which one of the Hatchimals "Mystery" friends would be theirs.


Besides the fun "hatching" feature, I like that the chicks can "grow" and interact with the kids. There's a whole booklet about the different eye colors, sounds and how to teach them how to "talk".


As the playdate came to a close, there was one more fun activity. The kids each received back packs filled with various supplies including Master Lock's dial combination lock, Watchitude slap on watches, Hatchimals Colleggtibles, and Mabel's Labels packs for their school supplies and clothing.



The girls and boys also received color pencils, magic sequin notebooks and pencil totes, and magic water pens from Fashion Angels and a few other fun items.

The fun ended with giveaways for Lysol, Hydroflask, Jakks Pacific and more. The parents were excited about the Lysol cleaning products. Cause someone needs to need help us clean up after the playdate. Ha!

In collaboration with Marvel Entertainment, littleBits has debuted 'The Avengers Hero Inventor Kit', which gives kids (and their families) a way to create, customize, and code their own super powers.

Coding and super powers? Sounds like a great fit for my family, so we attended a demo session to see the kit in action.

First we learned how the Avengers Hero Inventor Kit works. We learned about the different bits and how they go together so kids can build using littleBits’ electronic building blocks.

Kids can build the high-tech hero gauntlet with wearable tech sensors, a customizable LED matrix light design, and authentic Marvel Avengers sound effects.


Then we learned about the different ways you can customize your high-tech gauntlet. While the kit itself comes with stickers, etc, kids can totally build their own unique designs and covers. We saw examples that included a cover made from an egg carton.

After learning about the bits and pieces, we got a first look at the free companion app for The Avengers Hero Inventor Kit.


With 18+ in-app activities, kids can control their Super Hero gear with their smart device, give it new abilities with in-app block coding, and use their STEAM skills to customize their Super Hero identity.
