When I saw the offer to review THE BOSS Blu-ray/DVD combo, I had to say yes! The film is SO funny. Now was my chance to enjoy watching it in the comfort of my home.

3 Lessons Learned from The Boss Blu-ray

Note: I received product sample for review purpose. Any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.

Then my THE BOSS Blu-ray/DVD #LikeABoss package arrived. Woah.

My packed contained THE BOSS movie and other goodies including brownie mix, an apron and oven mitts! A movie and snacks! I swear these PR folks know the way into my blogging heart.

So I spent a kid free night snacking and laughing out loud while watching THE BOSS Blu-ray/DVD combo. I can say that Melissa McCarthy did not disappoint.

She brought both the comedy and heart with her character Michelle Darnell. Not only did I REALLY enjoyed THE BOSS but I learned a few life lessons along the way.

Here are 3 things I learned while watching THE BOSS movie:

Embrace your top dog status.

From the start of the movie Michelle knew she wouldn't settle in any areas of her life. From finding a family, to growing her business, to finding (and losing) love, Michelle never settled.

I LOVE this message.

While Michelle could be extreme sometimes, she knew how awesome she was and made sure everyone knew also. That's a real boss attitude in action.

Believe in your ideas.

Michelle always goes with her business ideas believing success will come. But what happens when the idea isn't hers?!

When Michelle has an idea inspired by assistant Claire (Kristen Bell) baking, she still embraces it. She jumps in and convinces Claire she has something special and should take a chance towards a more happy and successful future.

It didn't matter that the idea wasn't Michelle's. It was great to see Claire learn that she has control over her life and find her way to happiness and success thanks to Michelle.

Love is crazy but awesome.

This was an unexpected but hilarious side story in the movie. Between Michelle and Claire love interests, we discover love in all it's mad glory. Anyone who has ever been in love will understand the craziness that drives Renault (Peter Dinklage) to totally stalk his ex Michelle in business and in life which leads to an awesome sword fight.

Not to mention Claire's own love life that leads to her guy dressing in a Phoenix outfit. Long story. You'll have to watch the movie to understand. But it's all about love and what it leads you to. LOL

While I listed 3 lessons I learned, you might find more while watching the movie so make sure to get your own copy!

SYNOPSIS

Melissa McCarthy stars as Michelle Darnell, a titan of industry who is sent to prison for insider trading. After doing her time, Michelle emerges, ready to rebrand herself as America’s latest sweetheart, but not everyone she steamrolled is so quick to forgive and forget.

With nowhere to go and no one to scam, Michelle is forced to move in with former assistant Claire (Kristen Bell – Frozen, “House of Lies”) and her young daughter, Rachel. Now at her lowest point, Michelle wastes no time in devising a winner-take-all plan to rebuild her empire. Can she reclaim her status as the No. 1 screwer, or will the love of one family screw her for good?
