To learn more about The Lion Guard episode "Follow That Hippo" premiered Friday, March 18 on Disney Channel, I interviewed Dusan Brown, who voices the role of Beshte the hippo, the strongest member of Disney's The Lion Guard, which continues the epic storytelling of "The Lion King."

During our interview Dusan shared that The Lion Guard is not his first experience with world of The Lion King. Dusan played the role of Simba in the Lion King Musical. So when he learned about The Lion Guard he was excited to audition.


While he first auditioned for the role of Kion or Bunga , it was his voice and personality that won him the role of Beshte the hippo. Dusan shared he has no regrets since he and Beshte share the same traits of being happy and willing to help others.


And its this willingness to help others that is highlight in the episode "Follow That Hippo!," when a young elephant that idolizes Beshte wanders into danger, so Beshte must rescue him.

Disney Junior's has ordered a second season of hit series "The Lion Guard," which will continue the epic storytelling of "The Lion King" and the adventures of Kion, the second-born cub of Simba and Nala, and his diverse group of friends as they unite to protect the Pride Lands.
