Getting Ready for Vlogging with iKlip Grip

By 10/29/2015 11:58:00 AM ,

This year I wanted to get into vlogging more. Sometimes I want to share an idea or record a video review. But having a whole video setup was just a bit to much for me. Then I learned about the iKlip Grip from IK Multimedia.

Note: I received product sample for review purpose. No other compensation was received. Any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.

The iKlip Grip is a multi-functional video stand with Bluetooth shutter control* for smartphones, compact video cameras, audio field recorders and more. iKlip Grip is 4 accessories in one: desktop tripod, grip handler, monopod and tripod adapter, that can securely hold any smartphone with or without a case with screen sizes from 3.5" to 6", and features also a standard mounting system for connecting small mobile video cameras like GoPro®, compact digital cameras and stand-mount audio field recorders.

The idea of using a mini tripod stand to hold my smartphone while I recorded video was great for me. I tend to use my smartphone for everything anyway.

My iKlip Grip kit came with an easy to follow manual and lots of cool accessories that is quick to set up. I like that you can put the stand together AND take it apart to pack away when not using.

In a few minutes, I put together my tripod

Then attached the mounting bracket to my smartphone

And was ready to record a video.

There's a remote that you can connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth to take photos and they say record video. But I couldn't figure out how to start and stop the video, so can't really share about that feature.

But over all I think the iKlip Grip is a great kit for taking photos and to a minor degree videos when you need a portable setup.

  1. Oh this is a great idea. I like to use my cellphone a lot, but don't have a stand for it. I love that it is adjustable. My S5 with Otter Cover is pretty heavy, do you think it can handle it?

  8. It looks like a great tool. I don't have room for a huge tripod so this one is really appealing.

  12. I think it would be so much easier to vlog with this product. My arms get tired when I hold the camera while I video tape my posts.
