This week I attended an event hosted by Jenny Craig where Nicole Sullivan, along with other real Jenny clients, shared weight loss success stories. Now weight loss isn't something I usually write about on this blog. However, I know that many of my readers are making goals to lose weight and get started on a healthy eating path.

For some of my readers, maybe the weight loss process has been a bit of a struggle? If so maybe a weight loss program like Jenny Craig can help you accomplish your weight loss goal. For Nicole Sullivan and the other women at the event, Jenny Craig turned out to be the option that was most successful in helping them lose the weight and start a healthy lifestyle.

During the presentation, Nicole shared how she joined Jenny after the birth of her second son and reached her goal of losing 35 pounds. Nicole also spoke about portion control, how she used walking as her exercise and how her son helps her count when she's doing pushups while watching TV.

After the presentation, I was able to have a mini interview with Nicole Sullivan to discuss motherhood, weight loss and children. I asked Nicole about involving children in the weight loss process and she shared

"While my son is still very young and for him it's fun to help mommy, I hope that by seeing by example of eating healthy and being active, in the long run he grows up with this mindset."

I thought this was a great point. As parents we set the example for our children so when we live a healthy and active lifestyle, our children will follow our lead and hopefully avoid childhood obesity. But maybe you think it's going to be hard to change your lifestyle? Or you need to starve or deny yourself the foods you enjoy?

While many people think Jenny Craig is all about the prepackaged meals, all the women at the event spoke about how Jenny Craig’s tools, education and personalized counseling provided the needed help for them to stayed with the program, achieve weight loss, and gain other health benefits.

One of the other health benefits for those using the Jenny Craig program is the reduction of the risk for heart disease. For the 2nd year Jenny Craig, will continue in partnership with the American Heart Association (AHA) to get Americans healthy and active.

Jenny Craig will continue to support the My Heart. My Life.™ healthy living initiative and expand on its participation in the Heart Walks by encouraging more Americans to participate in the American Heart Association's National Walking Day (April 3, 2013). On this day, people are encouraged to wear sneakers to work and take at least 30 minutes out of their day to get up and walk in hopes of helping them make a healthy habit of walking several times a week to manage a healthier weight.

As you can see the Jenny Craig program has a lot to offer those seeking a way to lose weight and start a healthier lifestyle. I'm glad I was able to attend and share the information with my readers. While the Jenny Craig program might not be for everyone, I hope for some of my readers, it's an option to achieve your goals this year.

Since before Christmas, my son and I have been dealing with one sickness after another. From Scarlet fever to the semi flu, not to mention ...

Now that we're feeling "healthy", I decided that this weekend was the time to deep and seriously clean the apartment and get rid of any lingering germs. I armed myself with the latest cleaning devices and products (thanks to my blogger & brand connections) and declared war on any germs and bacteria in my apartment.






The next area to receive a through cleaning was the kitchen area. For this I used Scrubbing Bubbles® Total Kitchen Foaming All Purpose Cleaner with fantastik. and the Scrubbing Bubbles® All Purpose Cleaner with fantastik  which claims to kills 99.9 percent of germs and bacteria so I used it to wipe down the kitchen counter tops and other surfaces.


The Scrubbing Bubbles® Total Kitchen Foaming All Purpose Cleaner with fantastik I used on surfaces that not only needed cleaning but also grime removal like my kitchen sink. I really like that the foam clings to surfaces to break down grease and grime. My sink really was clean and shiny and the kitchen area smelt great.



I was excited to try out the Lysol® Power & Free products line since it's cleaning formula uses Hydrogen Peroxide so it doesn't have the harshness found in bleach. I was able to wipe down the bathroom sink using the Lysol® Power & Free Bathroom Wipes. They are very strong and really picks up dirt, hair, etc well.


For my tub fixtures and tile walls I sprayed the LYSOL® Power & Free™ Bathroom Cleaner and then washed off for a nice clean finish. I really like this for my bathroom tiles. No hard scrubbing!

Lastly I used the LYSOL® Power & Free™ Toilet Bowl Cleaner for the toilet bowl. I like that it had a spout with a curved nozzle to really get under the toilet rim. The liquid gives off a nice clean scent as it penetrates whatever is stuck inside the toilet.

During a preview of newly digital enhanced Build-a-Bear Workshop Pop-Up store, I learn how the partnership of Build-A-Bear Workshop and Infusion technology has reinvent the bear-making process, making it a fun and personalized experience.

These new digitally interactive Build-A-Bear Workshops have already opened outside the New York City area, but plans are to bring the fun to more stores including those in New York City.

What can families expect? How different will it be from the original Build-A-Bear Workshop stores? Will parents know what to do while using all that technology?! My son and I found out for you!

The new digital enhanced Build-A-Bear Workshop wants to merges hands-on bear-making with a digital experience but using stations. At each station the child (and parents) follow interactive cues to "build" and personalize their bear in a new way.


The Love Me station is where kids can customize their bear (or other furry friend) with special personality attributes displayed as emoticons. The interactive table uses Samsung's SUR40 with Microsoft® PixelSense™ technology.

The Hear Me station is where kids can pick from an assortment of sounds to be inserted into their stuffed animals. Kids can also select and load popular hits from current music, sounds onto a chip, or record their own voice to a Build-A-Sound

The Stuff Me station is where kids can add SCENTiments. An assortment of scents available include: bubble gum, strawberry, cotton candy, and chocolate chip. The scents offered will change by season and holiday.

But here the stuffed animals closed after a Bear Builder associate inserts a barcode, which can be used for lost and found and getting a unique code so kids can play online at www.Bearville.com.

The Fluff Me station, is where kids can interact with their bear at a digital bath tub that also uses Samsung's SUR40 with Microsoft® PixelSense™ technology. The tub recognizes items placed on it's surface and shows virtual soap and bubbles and duck "feet". My son LOVED this station.


The Dress Me station is organized by theme, such as dress up and super heroes, so kids can coordinate items. This uses Match Me technology, so you can see what is new in the clothing area and receive suggestions on related items for outfits.

The final station is the Name Me station, where you can use a viewfinder or "bear-o-scope" to reveals the special attributes and personality that was added to your furry friend from the start of the process.

At the Name Me station you create a personalized one-of-a-kind birth certificate that now includes a photo of your new furry friend. This was my favorite station and I had fun "seeing" what my son had built his bear with.

As you can see there's lots of interactive fun with the new digital station. Parents and their kids will find using the stations easy. The stations have visual and audio prompts that help the building process flow nicely.

Kids like my son, who are use to touch screen technology, will have no problem adjust to the new way to build a furry friend. Kids love being able to touch and interactive with their bear!

I think families will like these new interactive Build-A-Bear Workshop. Keep your eyes open to see when one will open in your area!
