Do you have tons of digital photos stored all over, including Google Photos? What happens to your photos once you upload them? Most of us just leave the photo there and hardly view, much less print or share them after.

Note: I was invited to event as media. However any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.

The team behind Google Photos wants to change that by giving the program some serious updates. During a media preview I was able to see how these updates worked in real time.

First you can Relive your best memories with Google Photos

Certain points in the year are nostalgic — birthdays, trips, holidays, etc. Google Photos wants to put those photos and videos front and center with gallery highlights called "Memories".

These memories are your personal media, privately presented to you and searchable for easy selection. Want to find certain person's birthday photos? Just search using their name and “birthday” to find all the relevant shots.

Don't want to see certain memories? You can hide certain people or time periods, as well as the option to turn this feature off.

Now that you can find photo moments quickly, you can Streamlined how you share Google Photos with the people who matter.

In the coming months, it’ll be even easier to send photos directly to your friends or family within the app. Those photos shared together will now be added to an ongoing, private album so there’s one place to find the photos. No more forgetting to send someone photos. They can just check the album for updates. And download to their library.

You can also Share Google Photo memories offline and at home, easily by making photo books, ordering photo canvas and same day printing.

You can easily use Google Photos to quickly find and make your memories into a photo book.

Now, you can use print individual 4x6 photos directly from Google Photos and picking them up same day at CVS Pharmacy or Walmart, at over 11,000 locations with print centers across the U.S.

Order canvas prints from Google Photos in the U.S., and they’ll be delivered straight to your home. Canvas prints start at $19.99 and come in three different sizes, 8x8, 11x14, and 16x20, so they work for all types of spaces. You can put them on a shelf, prop them up at your desk, or hang them in your living room for everyone to see.

With all of these features, you can relive your best memories, share them with the people that matter, and get them off of your phone and into your home.
