Puzzle Bobble (a.k.a. Bust-A-Move) is an action-puzzle game where the brothers Bub and Bob, who have been transformed into bubble dragons by a wizard’s spell, search for a way to turn back into human form in a bubble-bursting adventure.

The classic gameplay formula is simple but addictive: using various items and gimmicks, connect three or more bubbles of the same colour to remove them from the field and progress. A spin off from the 1986 arcade hit Bubble Bobble, which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, Bust-A-Move/Puzzle Bobble has seen over 20 series titles across countless platforms since its 1994 debut.

Originally played in the arcade as a 2D puzzle game, and later evolving into a 3D modern title, Survios will now release Puzzle Bobble in virtual reality (VR). With the new VR transformation, families can now join Bub and Bob for endless bubble-popping fun, while they embark on their island vacation.

Survios Inc. and Taito Corp. announced that Puzzle Bobble VR: Vacation Odyssey will launch on Oculus Home for the Oculus Quest and Quest 2 on May 20, 2021.

Coins are earned and can be exchanged to activate power-ups with clever VR interactions, giving players brand new tools and techniques in bubble solving.

Adding a new element to the classic Japanese franchise, Puzzle Bobble VR: Vacation Odyssey features multiple gameplay modes:

• Story Mode: Story Mode provides players with 100 progressively challenging levels to clear with 3-star rankings.
• Infinite Mode: Shoot and match to a high score as a never-ending wave of bubbles surge on screen.
• Online Duel Mode: Challenge the skills of online opponents and send jammer bubbles to a rival’s board in this fast-paced 1v1 duel mode.
