When the Disney's Queen of Katwe released on Digital HD on Jan. 10 and Blu-ray™ on Jan. 31, I looked forward to watching all the extra features along with the original film. Why?

Because I wanted to know ALL the extra behind the scene stuff about this extraordinary true story.

Note: I received product sample for review purpose, however any personal views expressed are always 100% my own

And there was so much "extra" to learn and enjoy on the QUEEN OF KATWE Blu-ray. One of my favorite features was the audio commentary with Director Mira Nair.

It was great to hear Mira talk about each scene and what she was trying to get across to the viewer.


Mira's commentary really brought extra layers to some very touching and powerful scenes. I confess I found myself re-watching certain points trying to catch it all.

Phiona comes full circle as she teaches a little boy the same lessons Robert taught her in chess club.
