My son loves science and learning how things work. So I knew he'd enjoy helping me review Oregon Scientific "Smart Anatomy", an educational toy that helps kids learn about the human body.

The first exciting feature about the Smart Anatomy from Oregon Scientific ($79.99; for ages 5+) is that it's made in a way to encourage kids to learn and explore. The kit comes with an anatomy body that can be personalized with a boy or girl face.

The anatomy also has magnetic pieces that kids can remove and try to fit back into the correct order. This puzzle like activity help kids learn how the body fits together.

At the base of the Smart Anatomy kids can play with 5 game modes (Fun, Games, Nutrition, System, Touch) and can choose from 20 activities including: True or False, Memory, Weird Facts, Spelling, Food Categories, How Does it Work? and more.

My son had a blast trying out the different game modes. At first he didn't know alot of the answers, but the game encouraged him to figure things out before telling him. After going over some of the different area, he soon knew the answers to the questions. He was so proud!

The Smart Anatomy kit also includes:

The Smart Pen will read invisible dots printed on each body part, triggering over 600 sounds played directly out of the Smart Pen or via headphones. Choose between 3 languages: English, Spanish or Italian.
  • Booklet & Double Side Poster - The 16 page booklet & double side poster with facts that can be used while playing with Smart Anatomy. The booklet contains information about major body systems, nutrition and food categories. The double-sided poster with body diagram is a quick reference guide that list the names of major body parts.

Whether for school or at home fun, Smart Anatomy is a great tool for kids to learn so much about their bodies and how things work.
