Now that Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” is available, I can share my thoughts on the film and why the storyline is something families will enjoy.

3 Reasons to Watch Disney Jungle Cruise

Note: This post is in partnership with Disney+, who invited me to the online screening. Views expressed are always 100% my own.

Inspired by the famous Disneyland theme park ride, Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” is an adventure-filled, rollicking thrill-ride down the Amazon with wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff (Dwayne Johnson) and intrepid researcher Dr. Lily Houghton (Emily Blunt).

The pairing of Johnson and Blunt make for some great comedic moments. And while humor is one of the things you'll enjoy about Disney’s “Jungle Cruise”, the film has other good reasons for viewing.

So, I'm sharing 3 reasons you should watch Disney’s JUNGLE CRUISE!

The Humor

The humor in Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” is kid and family friendly, and a good start to the film. You'll enjoy watching how Captain Wolff runs his river boat business while teaching customers about the "dangers" of the Amazon river.

And while Johnson can carry the humor on his own, when Blunt brings her confident female personality to the film, she's able to add something special to the films running pranks. It's also great how her character stands up to Johnson while on their quest.

The Adventure

Action Side by Side | Disney's Jungle Cruise

The "Quest" of Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” is itself an enjoyable adventure for viewers to join in on. While you can get a sense of how the story is going, you'll still enjoy the journey. In part because of the mix of history telling, visuals of the Amazon river and it's wildlife and the cinematic add-ins to make the story "magical".

There's a scene when they have to figure out a riddle to get into an underwater area, which was a great mixture of the authentic history and Hollywood visuals. Even though we know they'll figure it out, watching how it was done is still enjoyable!

Epic Storytelling

Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” does a great job of keeping you wanting to watch, even if you sorta know how it ends. A major reason for that is the way the story is told. From the start you get a sense that the characters are mysterious and a little shady (let's be honest!) and you want to know what they'll do in the movie. And what's the mysteries surrounding everything?

Thankfully Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” provides the answers as the story unfolds and it's all so grand and epic that you can't help but enjoy it!
