Just as we settle into the New Year, it's already time for kids to have the first "break" from school. If you're a NYC family looking for outside activities during mid-winter recess, here are a few to enjoy with your family.

Please remember to wear your masks and social distance while enjoying some outside time!

Kids Week at Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park

Kids Week at Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park takes place during the NYC School District’s Midwinter Recess from Monday, February 15 to Friday, February 19.

  • Tuesday: Mardi Gras Parade - In celebration of Mardi Gras, Kids can stop by to create their own mask and march in a small, socially-distant parade, and other “jazzy” festivities.
  • Wednesday: Lunar New Year - Winter Village is welcoming the Year of the Ox during our Lunar New Year Celebration at Bryant Park! Learn about the Chinese art of ribbon dancing, make a wish on the wishing trees, fashion a stylish ox crown, and watch a lion dance performance by New York Chinese Cultural Center after a morning of kids’ skate sessions.
  • Thursday: Summer on Ice - Celebrating summer in the heart of winter - Winter Village is bringing the beachside vibes to the rink! With giant pool toys on the ice and a drop-in obstacle course, the fun continues with a tropical take-away craft and a special performance by Ice Theater of New York.
  • Friday: Pajama Party - To close out the week, kids can wear their coziest PJs to the Rink in the park’s FIRST-EVER pajama party; play freeze dance, and make a dreamcatcher to take home as a souvenir!

Daily Group/Kids Skate Sessions: During Kids Week, we are offering free 30-minute group skate lessons each morning. Instructors review the importance of proper safety measures, from learning how to adequately fall and stand, to safely marching across the ice.

Participation is limited to children 12 and under. Lessons will be capped at six children, and masks are required.

Curling Cafe: The Curling Cafe is open all week long during Kids Week! Get the whole family to try something new and refuel for the day with lunch in a private dining bubble.
