World Maker Faire at NYSCI #WMF16 #makerfaire
Last year we attended the World Maker Faire, a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, resourcefulness and celebration of the Maker Movement.

Note: I received tickets to World Maker Faire 2016. However, any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.
We spent a full day visiting different booths and areas that were using a technology tie-in and was amazed by it all.

Just a few of the things we did that day.....

We learned how to build robotic sets

We learned how to create shapes and code for gaming

We did tech inspired arts and crafts.

We learned about static electricity

We watched a very big robot shot fire balls.
After having such a great time, we are excited for the World Maker Faire to come back to the NYC area!

Sharing creativity and making something with all generations is one of the most amazing things. Being a kid and an adult is the best.
ReplyDeleteWe've been to the Hall of Science before for a science project and it was lots of fun. We've wanted to go Maker Faire, my husband and my 11 year old stepdaughter are both maker and tinkerers. They love math and science. As do I! And are little one who is 2 even enjoyed the HofS. (She's getting a coding toy for Xmas this year). We are always inspired by these things and we love it as a tech creative family. I hope we win :)
ReplyDeleteYou can spend all day asking questions, and trying things out with your hands -- you go home feeling like you're prepared to start making things, even if you aren't sure how they're going to work! People are so brave with their ideas and creations.
ReplyDeleteI plan to attend Maker Faire with my son and friends. We can't wait!
ReplyDeleteWe're hoping to take the kids there this weekend. Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteMy son is just starting to dabble in engineering and how things work. This would be a great activity to keep his interest high.
