Hasbro NYC Toy Preview and Party #HasbroNYC
Hasbro held a fun evening of cocktails, food and games to check out and play on a gorgeous evening at Stout. I admit it's been awhile since I've played with any toys and even though these toys/games are mainly for kids, I think the adults enjoyed it just as much, if not more! Oh what it is to feel like a kid again.
Note: I was invited as media to this event and received a gift bag with product samples. No other compensation was received. Any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.

Hasbro had a variety of toys at the event but I have to say I had a lot of fun with the new DohVinci art and design kits, from the makers of Play-Doh. This new compound allows you to create your own beautiful 3D art design on a variety of surfaces including glass, wood, duct tape and paper. Simply pop your favorite color into the Styler and squeeze to create!
Great way to do a fun creative art activity with the kids and I plan to get these for my nieces for Xmas! The DohVinci launch collection includes:
- Style & Store Vanity
- Flower Tower Frame Kit
- Door Decor Kit
- Kits retail between $12.99 - $19.99
So for the more 'adult' games, My Monopoly has come out and what's different from this awesome classic game is that it's become totally customizable. It's a great gift to give to a family who loves Monopoly (and who doesn't?) and make it their own.
With the My Monopoly App or website, you can easily create your own personalized game by customizing property spaces, game tokens, chance cards and community chest cards to include pics of your favorite people, places and things! You just print them out on the My Monopoly game stickers, stick them on the game pieces and you're ready to play and be a future entrepreneur! The app will be available on both iOS and Android platforms. Retails at $19.99. My Monopoly for ages 8+. Unless you have super smart kids!
Lastly, one of my absolutely favorite games to play at parties and group gatherings is Taboo. I don't remember how many times I have laughed till I cried when playing this game with friends and family. Hasbro has come out with handheld versions of several party games including Taboo Buzz'd, Trivial Pursuit and Catch Phrase.
Great for traveling, no more losing cards or pieces. Retails for $19.99 and requires 3 AAA batteries that are not included. Ages 12+. The one thing I did notice is there is no Off switch to turn off the games so you have to let it play out until time is up. This may be an issue if you want to stop mid game since you can't.
There were several other games like the updated Simon Says and a bunch of new Nerf guns/bows (retail around $40) that I think adults would have way too much fun with (I was already thinking of who I would like to shoot in my office!)
I had some fun taking funny pictures like this Transformers background while I petted it! What a fun night and I already have some ideas for gifts this holiday season for both girls and boys (which will be upon us before you know it!!)
All toys are available at most major retailers nationwide or on www.HasbroToyShop.com
