Motorola DROID Maxx, Ultra & Mini Smartphone Review

If you are a fan of the Motorola Droid smartphone then you were probably happy to learn that Verizon Wireless exclusive released the trio of new DROID phones in their stores around Fall of 2013.

Note: I was invited as media and a Verizon Wireless #VZWBuzz lifestyle blogger to this event. I received product sample for review purpose. Any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.

To learn more about the Motorola DROID phones, I was invited to one of the New York Metro Area Verizon Wireless stores. While in the store I got some hands on time with the Droid phones.

The DROID Mini, DROID Maxx and DROID Ultra feature a sleek design, scratch-resistant glass, water-repellant Nano-coating and some very cool features, including:
  • Active Display Feature saves battery life by only activating those pixels needed to quickly check notifications on your phone
  • Mirror everything on phone to HDTV with a simple set up process
  • Quick Capture turns your screen into a camera viewfinder with a simple flick of the wrist
  • Touchless Control allows you to set your alarm, locate your phone or send a text from across the room
  • Droid Zap gives you the ability to share content with friends and family in a quick and simple way

While all three of the phones are awesome, each one of them has something specific to offer.
  • DROID MINI ($49.99 w/ 2-Year contract) offers a compact design with an edge-to-edge 4.3-inch HD display.
  • DROID ULTRA ($99.99 w/ 2-Year contract) offers the thinnest 4G LTE smartphone available, measuring 7.18mm, and with a 5-inch HD display.
  • DROID MAXX ($199.99 w/ 2-Year contract) offers a 3500mAh battery that gives nearly two days of battery life on a single charge, making it the longest lasting 4G LTE smartphone available.

Being one of the Verizon Wireless #VZWBuzz lifestyle blogger, I was able to receive the DROID MINI for review. Which was a fit since it had a compact size but was light enough not to weight down my lifestyle. I tend to be on the go a lot and need a phone I can quickly put in my pocket or in a small carrier.

The HD Display was impressive and made watching movies and YouTube video enjoyable. Which is important when I needed to entertain my son while we traveled.

But the most impressive feature for me was using voice commands. This feature really comes in handy when I can't find the phone cause my son was using it somewhere and then forgot to give it back to me. This has happened more then I'd like. Ever needed to read an important email but can't find your phone? Now you can!

As you can see the Motorola DROID can really enhance your smartphones experience and tasks. Check them out and see if one fits yourself.
