Food Friday: Pork Chop with SweeTango Apple Purée Recipe

Fall has arrived, and if you are an apple lover then you need to learn more about the SweeTango apples. SweeTango apples are crisp, citrusy and have a honey sweet taste that's great to enjoy on its own or in recipes.

To be honest besides making apple pies, I never thought about cooking with apples. But while looking over the SweeTango website, this Pork Chop with SweeTango Apple Purée recipe caught my eye and I wanted to share with my apple loving cooking fans!

Pork Chop with SweeTango Apple Purée Recipe

Pork Chop with SweeTango Apple Purée

Cook Time: 40 min

Ingredients: Serves: 2

2 Pork chips, thin
SweeTango Apple Purée
Apple Lovage Vinaigrette
Salt and pepper

SweeTango Apple Purée:
2 lb SweeTango apples, peeled, diced
1 ½ c Sugar
3 c Water

Apple Lovage Vinaigrette:
½ c Apple lovage vinegar
or substitute apple cider vinegar
½ c Grape seed oil
2 tbsp Shallot, diced


Place all ingredients for the SweeTango Apple Purée in a sauce pot, and cook until soft and liquid has reduced. Place in blender and purée until smooth. Set aside. In a bowl, mix Apple Lovage Vinaigrette ingredients well, and set aside. Pan sear or grill pork chops for 4 minutes on each side.

Season with salt and pepper to taste, and allow to rest for one minute. Lay pork chops on plate, top with SweeTango Apple Purée and dress with Apple Lovage Vinaigrette. Serve and enjoy!
