Legends of CHIMA Preview at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester

This weekend on Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28, the LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester has a first ever LEGO CHIMA event, featuring the premiere of a new 4D movie and other CHIMA activities for fans and families to enjoy. Tonight annual pass holders and a few invited media were able to enjoy some of the activities before the weekend.

Note: I was invited as media to this event. No other compensation was received. Any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.

I haven't visited the LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester since it opened a few months back, so I was excited to attend with my son, my sister and her family. We did so much during our preview but since this weekend is about the LEGO world of CHIMA, I'll share those activities first. But don't worry, I'll post more about our visit later in the week.

Our first activity was the scavenger hunt to spot LEGO CHIMA characters hidden throughout MINILAND for the chance to win a family four-pack of annual passes. I tired to find the CHIMA characters but kept being distracted by the kids excitement over the "little city and people". Both kids enjoyed seeing and interacting with the MINILAND displays. Meanwhile the adults were amazed at what can be built using LEGO blocks, especially the new LEGO replica of One World Trade Center. It was really beautiful to see

Our next activity was seeing the new LEGO world of CHIMA 12 minute animated 4D film, "where tribes of animal warriors compete in epic battles for CHI, a mystical energy source of limitless power and destruction." The film was fun for the kids since the storyline was short but action filled. Add in the light wind, sprays of mist, colorful lights during action scenes and green lights when a certain shunk characters "passes one" and you'll have a room filled with laughing kids. I admit the adults had a good time also.

After the movie we came out right into a perfect photo opp with Laval the Lion Prince, who showed my son how to roar like a lion! LEGO hands and all. LOL. We also took a photo with the four-foot tall Laval LEGO model. It's so cute!

From there I tried to get into the Speedorz racing competitions to see some battling action but it was a bit to crowded for us. But from the sound of it there was lots of fun happening with the cord-powered LEGO CHIMA vehicles.

There was a few more LEGO CHIMA activities happening but we had to start heading back with some very tired and happy kids. AS you can see there's lots to do this weekend during the LEGO CHIMA event so make sure to get your tickets and head over to LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester for a weekend of LEGO-tastic fun!

All activities taking place during the LEGO LEGENDS OF CHIMA event are included in the price of admission to LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester.
