A Sunday at the Movies with The Lorax Review

Today we spent the morning at the movies! It's been a while since I took my son to the movies for a fun Mother and son date. But with Earth Day coming I thought seeing The Lorax would be a great movie to help my son start to learn about the connection we have with nature.

So early Sunday morning we headed over to the AMC Magic Johnson Harlem theater. Even though we live in the Harlem area and pass by this theater all the time, do you know we never been in there?! The theater is pretty big and shows all the new releases. As we headed into the section showing our movie, I promised myself to visit again.

After having a mini battle with my son over NOT getting popcorn, it's 10:30am!, we settled in our seats. I handed him a banana, which is better for morning snacks and waited for the movie to start.

I'm not sure what my son thought of the movie, but I noticed he loved the singing and dancing parts and joined along dancing in his seat.

For my part, I wasn't sure how the modern take on the classic story would be but I thought the story came out great. It taught children (and some adults) how important it is to take care of our environment and to be a responsible person.

The Lorax is a good movie to see with your family so make sure you catch it while it's still showing in theaters.

  1. Shame on me. I still have yet to take my son. Looks like we will have to get it when it comes out on DVD at this rate :)
