Romare Bearden's 100th Birthday @MacysEvents for Black History Month

Macys and The Romare Bearden Foundation invite you to celebrate the 100th Birthday of one of Americas foremost 20th Century American Artists, Romare Bearden, an African American artist and writer!

The exhibition, which runs 2/9 - 2/12, will feature watercolors, prints, oil on paper and dramatic black and white photostats that date from 1964 to 1984 when Romare Bearden was at the peak of his artistic power. Pieces from the exhibition will also include works from various artists that have been inspired and influenced by Beardens life, work and legacy.

His art work, as well as the music he wrote, will be celebrated at a series of Macy's stores across the nation during the month of February. During the reception jazz musicians will perform Bearden’s music
