3 Wines for Summer Entertaining: MommyJuice, FlipFlop & Big House Review
As we count down the last days of summer, I'm trying to squeeze in some last moments with friends and family. These last care free days of visits and bonding are great moments for sharing wines.
Please Note: I received product sample for review. Views expressed are always 100% my own.
Over the summer I had a chance to review a few selections of wines that I'd like to recommend you enjoy with friends and family.
MommyJuice Red Wine Blend: 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 3% Malbec, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot - Aromas of bright berry fruits. Plums, tobacco and a subtle floral note. Full and rich flavors of blueberries, blackberries and dried cherries. Dried plums and a little anise spice round off the wonderfully smooth finish.
MommyJuice White Wine Blend: 100% Chardonnay - Aromas of tropical fruit salad—pineapples, guava and bananas. Hints of lemon grass and citrus rind as well. Kiwi, lime and a hit of grassiness round out this very fruit forward Chardonnay.
My Thoughts These wines were really light in texture and flavor for me, which I was surprised by since they has such a mixed of fruit and spices. I enjoyed these wines early in the day on a weekend morning. Great for having a light brunch get together.

The Big House Unchained Naked Chardonnay (SRP $9.99) has a juicy palate and a refreshing finish that are worlds away from the heavy, oaky, fruit-masking styles of many California Chards. The wine ferments in stainless steel, which allows the true fruit characteristics of the Chardonnay grape to explode with green apple and hints of pear and a vibrant, crisp finish, unfettered by oak.
The Big House The Usual Suspect Cabernet Sauvignon (SRP $9.99) is all about embracing the fruit character in its purist form. It is blended with a touch of Grenache to allow the jammy, juicy floral notes to come through.
My Thoughts Usually I like red wine better then white but after tasting the Unchained Naked Chardonnay I couldnt put it down. It was so yummy and full flavored. Sorta like a red but not with the linger after hue. Not to say that Cabernet Sauvignon didnt also taste good because it did. It was smooth and rich. Either one would be perfect for a late lunch or at dinner time.

FlipFlop Chardonnay - Medium-bodied, with pineapple, soft vanilla and a long lingering finish.
FlipFlop Cabernet Sauvignon - Full-bodied, with blackberry fruit, dark cherries and a long, lingering finish.
My Thoughts A few months ago I first reviewed FlipFlop Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir wines and fell in love. This time around the love is still very much there. Their wines are well made and easy to enjoy no matter time of day. I enjoyed these two wines over the weekend with some friends. Everyone I share the wines with always agree that FlipFlop wines are awesome.
