The Bad Diaper Experience

As I start the process of potty training, I have to admit I'm a little sad to say goodbye to diapers. For the last 2 years diapering my son has been the everyday routine. With my son the diapering process was one of our bonding moments to sing songs and make funny faces. But I have to be honest, the diapering experience hasn't always been fun or easy.

As many people know, I'm a mom who loves to tour around town with my son. We can spend hours going different places and enjoying the sites and sounds of NYC. Since my son is a serious walker (runner really!), I use Huggies Little Movers diapers since they let him move freely while providing great coverage for wetness. I try to pack enough diapers to last our city tours, but once in a while we've been outside longer than planned and had our diaper stash dwindle.

I remember once my son was very active in the "going" department and we quickly ran through our diapers for that day. Since we were on a play date the other mom offered us one of her diapers, which was not a Huggies Little Movers diaper. Since it was a short train ride back to home, I figured it would be fine.

Sadly during the ride I noticed that my son had an increasing wet spot on his pants. The diaper wasn't holding in the wetness. Of course my son started to get irritable. Let me tell you being on a NYC subway with a crying baby is no fun! I started to worry we might not make it back home without him wailing. So I got off the next stop and quickly looked for the nearest store that sold diapers. When you're a parent knowing what stores sell baby supplies is key!

Once in the store I quickly found the diaper isle and bought a pack if Huggies Little Movers diapers. At this point my son is crying and I'm getting the "bad mom" look from strangers. Ugh. Then I found a public restroom and set a new record for the quickest diaper change. From there it was a much nicer, and quieter, ride back home.

Do you also have a bad diaper story?

Please Note: I have partnered with Huggies Little Movers and their Ambassador program. I will be receiving compensation and products for my personal use. However, I have not been paid to publish positive sentiments towards Huggies products. All opinions are my own.

  2. How stressful! We have certainly had our fair share of bad diapers. I cloth diapered my son (he broke out from all diapers), but with my daughter I ONLY used Huggies. We had leaks with most diapers.
