This year WWE SummerSlam 2016 came back to Barclay Center and we were excited to once again be part of all the wrestling action.
Note: I received tickets to Summerslam 2016. I'm part of the WWE #WWEMoms Ambassador Program and will share information about their activities and products. Any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.
Once we arrived at Barclay, we quickly headed into our section to be part of everything. We greeted other blog friends, who was there with their family, posed for photos to capture the moment and tried to settle into our seats.
As you can imagine SummerSlam is a long night filled with LOTS of wrestling action and matches. There's no way I can recap everything so I'll just highlight a few exciting moments.
The night started with the return of Jon Stewart who had to deal with Stephanie McMahon for messing up stuff. LOL
After watching a "girl" wrestling match, which he wasn't into *sigh*, my son nearly lost his little mind when John Cena came out for his match against AJ Styles.
The match provided lots of action but sadly Cena lost. Which led to me having to take a moment to comfort my son. *sigh*
Thankfully we had another Jon Stewart moment where announced his partnership with New Day. Unicorn headband and all.
The next match we enjoyed was Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler. This was an intense and awesome match with lots of off the rope action.
While Ziggler held his own for most of the match, in the end Ambrose won and seemed to enjoy it.
Then it was time for the match between Seth Rollins and Finn Balor for the Universal Title.
Part of the fun of this match was the reaction of the audience. They were not fans of the belt and did LOTS of booing.
But all the booing stopped when it came time for Randy Orton to go against Brock Lesnar. I have to be honest, I did scream just a little loudly when Orton walked out. And of course again when he did the pose. While I could look at him ALL day, he had a fight to settle.
And try to settle it Orton did. The match was serious with moments of Lesnar knocking Orton down. He even tried to slam him off the table. But Orton managed to sneak in a RKO! Woot!
Sadly it wasn't enough to keep Lesnar down. He came back with some vicious blows that lead to Orton bleeding in the ring. Lesnar was then announced to be the winner. I was so upset. Like really dude?!
Thankfully Orton was able to recover enough to get up and walk out. Hopefully to return the beat down to Lesnar another day.
Despite being upset over some matches, overall we enjoyed SummerSlam 2016 and look forward to next year!
