Drawing Snoopy & Other Peanuts Movie Fun at Children’s Museum of the Arts #PeanutsMovie

To celebrate the opening of THE PEANUTS MOVIE this weekend, we joined 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky animators for a special event at Children’s Museum of the Arts Animation.

Since this was our first time at Children’s Museum of the Arts Animation, we were excited to visit the different stations for The Peanuts Movie themed activities.

Our first stop was the clay bar to learn how to make a clay snoopy! This was a great activity and the kids received lots of guidance and support while making their clay-creations.

After squishing rolling and layering, I have to say my son's snoopy came out pretty good for a first try. While I'm use to a black and white snoopy, my son took creative license and made his snoopy brown and white. And it's OK!

At the next station we met Tyler Carter, one of Blue Sky animator(s), who taught the kids to draw Snoopy. The kids learned a lot about the shapes (and drawing time) to make snoopy and the other peanuts characters.

My son's snoopy drawings came out a bit different then the original but again, it was good first try. Tyler encouraged him to keep drawing and my son was excited to show off his drawing.

Now that my son knew how to draw to animate a picture, it was time for him to learn about making an animated video. After getting some pointers on movement, he was recorded and put into a video with The Peanuts Movie background.

My son helped edit and put together his video, which has him dancing. The video came out really good and my son learned a bit about video animation. We're waiting for the video to be uploaded online so we can share it with you.

We had a great time at Children’s Museum of the Arts Animation! After all The Peanuts Movie themed fun, we're ready to see the movie!
