Nintendo Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Bros Game Event #PuzzleandDragons
A few weeks back Nintendo World hosted a pre-launch event for Nintendo Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Bros. Edition (two-in-one game pack), which will be available May 22 2015.
Note: I'm part of Nintendo Ambassador Program and was invited as media to this event. However, any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.
During the event we joined Nintendo representatives and staff for a walk through of the game before getting going into gaming mode. Of course we also enjoyed some time with the Nintendo gaming icons. I swear this kid has the coolest life.
When my son wasn't schmoozing with the Mario Bros, he was learning the basics of playing the game. He even received some helps and tips from Danny Orihuela, Nintendo software developer.
While in one way the game is simple, drag and match colored orbs for combos to take down enemies, in another way it's also about skill. You have to put a team together and based on their strengths and powers you play them. That's my super simplified version.
But my son wasn't the only one learning the game. I was also busy learning Puzzle & Dragons Z, which has a much more advanced game play.
Puzzle & Dragons Z is also a two-in-one puzzle RPG adventure pack for Nintendo 3DS. It features drag-and-match game play based on a quest storyline to save your hometown and rebuild the fantasy world of Dracomacia. In the game players will hatch, collect, battle and evolve more than 250 Monsters to unlock powerful skills to customize their team. Players will need strength to harness the power of the Orbs to battle the five legendary Skydragons and defeat Lord Dogma’s evil group, Paradox.
As you can see both games have their unique appeal and I think families will enjoy playing them.
Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Bros. Edition will delight fans with the chance to befriend Mario baddies across multiple worlds to rescue Princess Peach.
Mushroom Kingdom devotees will feel at home navigating the familiar world map of Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Bros. Edition as Mario. But in a unique twist, players can assemble a team of Mushroom Kingdom baddies, like Koopa Troopas or Goombas, and recruit friends like Toad and Yoshi to work together on a mission to rescue Princess Peach.
Players must drag and match colorful orbs to create chains of three or more orbs to launch an attack. By chaining multiple combos together, players can deal massive amounts of damage to their foes. The game’s unique depth unfolds over a variety of worlds filled with more than 80 classic enemies, most of which can join the player’s team.
A free special demo of Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Bros. Edition is available in the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS to let players sample the drag-and-match game play.
Both games will be available on a single game card in stores and as a game download at Nintendo.com and in the Nintendo eShop on May 22, 2015 for one suggested retail price of just $29.99.
