So it all started after I posted about being at Olive Garden for a tasting event of their current and new menu items. Soon after posting photos of the yummy food, I received a tweet from Holly Pavlika asking when I was going to meet her and Kathy Zucker for our own Olive Garden trio hang out.
Note: This is not a sponsored post nor did Olive Garden request that I write about my visit. I met friends, enjoyed a meal and wanted to share our experience. Any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.
Well, a few tweets later and plans were made to meet and enjoy a meal. When it comes to hanging out with friends there should be no delays. LOL
A few days later and the trio...plus a little one....met at Olive Garden Times Square for what was suppose to be a quick lunch but ended up being nearly 3 hours of laughter, female bonding and a flurry of tweets.
What did we talk about for so long....well everything and nothing.
We talked about the deck in Holly's Manhattan apartment, Kathy's tooth fairy gifts to her child, and my nervousness about joining LinkedIn.....
We talked about other things also....fears, goals, hopes and plans for the future. Things that we wanted to share with another like minded women. Women who get us. Women who support us.
I can't tell you how important something like that is. Especially for me. I don't talk about it much but the past few years have been hard on me friendship wise. I've had to let go of a few female friendships and its been hard. Very hard. Like painful hard. But I had to accepted those friendship couldn't grow with me, my goals or my future.
But some female friendships can....some friendships encourage you to grow and be the best you can....no judgement, no jealously, no pain.
And that is what I enjoyed for nearly 3 hours with Holly and Kathy....friendship....and of course food. Because food is one of those things that bring people together and bonds them. And I have to say Olive Garden is one of those restaurants that understand this.
As we enjoyed our meal, we talked, tweeted and laughed up a storm. We weren't rushed, hushed or interrupted except to ask if we needed anything else to help us keep enjoying our time together.
Turns out dessert was what we needed to complete the bonding. LOL. Since I posted about enjoying Olive Garden's Pumpkin Cheesecake, Holly's been eager to try it herself. So we made sure to get her a slice ASAP to enjoy.
Of course she took a photo before eating it. LOL.
We also enjoyed a few other dessert sampling. Cause good friendships and yummy desserts go together right?
After all that we patted our tummies, exchange hugs and said our goodbyes...sorta...we tweeted each other a few minutes later about planning another meet and TwEATUp.
See why I love those ladies? LOL
