Office Depot Foundation National Backpack Program 2014

Once again the Office Depot Foundation will help deserving children start school on the right foot by donating 350,000 sackpacks in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and a number of other countries through its National Backpack Program, which is now in its 14th year.

Office Depot Foundation National Backpack Program

Intended primarily for use by students in grades K-5, the sackpacks also are suitable for older children, who use them in a variety of ways. The sackpack is compact and stores flat, yet still offers plenty of room for books and other school items.

The specially designed sackpacks come in seven bright and colorful designs that are new for 2014 and feature seven kid-friendly designs – two for boys, two for girls and three that are unisex. Each includes a zippered pouch containing a pen, pencil, pencil sharpener, eraser, six-inch ruler and four crayons. The sackpacks do not have any Office Depot Foundation or Office Depot logos or markings.

The specially designed sackpacks are manufactured exclusively for the Foundation. Highly contemporary in their design, they are made from the same sturdy material as backpacks, are water-resistant and lined to provide extra protection for their contents. They feature strong ropes and have no metal parts.

The sackpacks are being donated throughout the summer as the Foundation carries out the 14th year of its National Backpack Program. Every Office Depot and OfficeMax store in the United States has received approximately 50 sackpacks to give to nonprofit organizations and schools in their communities.

  6. I love that while they are being donated by Office Depot/Max, they don't have any company logos on them. Now that is selfless! Shows that they're doing it for the right reasons, and not just for marketing :)

  10. Great colors. And these would be good for my son, who often walks everywhere and has ended up coming home with wet books. Just keeping a sack in his backpack would help!
