A few weeks ago, Andaz Wall Street opened its outdoor farmers’ market to the Financial District where every Thursday from 12pm to 7pm, the hotel’s plaza, located near Wall & Water streets, will come alive as hotel guests – as well as the general public – shop from local farms and sample food from the hotel’s restaurants.

Visitors to the outdoor farmers’ market are able to sample local treats and learn how to pick the perfect produce from Executive Sous Chef Victor Cruz and Principal Farmer David Zaback from Z Food Farms.
True to Andaz Wall Street’s community spirit, the farmers’ market suppliers provide the hotel’s outlets with fresh produce. From basil, beans and beets, to rosemary, rhubarb and rutabaga, the freshest batches will be presented each week by an array of rotating local farmers.
“We are looking forward to welcoming back our Farmer’s Market this summer. By bringing some of the best produce offerings from the tri-state area to our central Lower Manhattan hotel, we’re excited to support local farmers and artisans, while providing guests and our Downtown neighbors, alike, with a quintessential New York City experience,” says Andaz Wall Street General Manager, Rusty Middleton.
Andaz Wall Street will further its collaboration with Z Food Farms to offer Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares for the 2014 season. CSA is a relationship of mutual support and commitment between local farmers and community members. Members pay a seasonal fee upfront to receive farm credit or a weekly supply of fresh produce, which varies in content according to the season.
Participants can choose between a Market Share and a Farm Share membership. Andaz Wall Street’s General Manager has personally signed up for the CSA program. The hotel has also signed up to give a weekly supply to a different hotel associate each week in order for the Andaz Wall Street team to personally enjoy the benefits as well.
The Andaz Wall Street Farmers’ Market will be open every Thursday from through mid-November. For more information call 212-590-1234 or visit www.wallstreet.andaz.com
