Educational Fun in Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N at Discovery Times Square #AvengersDTS #EduTech #Avengers

Discovery Times Square always have very cool exhibits that families can enjoy. So we looked forward to checking out their current exhibit "Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N.". Both my son and I are fans of the Marvel superheroes and the Avengers team so we were ready to be trained as agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N at Discovery Times Square

I read a bit about the Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. (Scientific Training and Tactical Intelligence Operative Network) exhibit and thought I knew what to expect. But going through the experience was nothing like I thought. It was much much better.

Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N at Discovery Times Square

The Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. is a completely interactive exhibit experience that really brings you into the world of The Avengers. Starting from outside the exhibit you make a agent card by filling in basic information about your self. The card is printed and you take it with you to scan and use at different stations. My son was so excited to have his own card. I admit I was pretty excited also.

Once inside you go into a special room for a mini orientation and bio scanned. Then it's off to simulated recruitment with different sections to walk through. Each section is based on a different Avenger and there's SO many interactive stations along with live S.H.I.E.L.D agents there to "guide" you.

The S.H.I.E.L.D agents we met during our visit was very helpful. They helped my son experience the stations and helped me geek out learning how to use the more complex areas.

Captain America Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N at Discovery Times Square

We learned about physical strength and body mechanics with tests against Captain America stats. Sadly neither my son nor I are as strong as Captain America, or as tall.

Hulk Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N at Discovery Times Square

We learned about the chemical and neurological changes that turn Bruce Banner into the Hulk. While most of this was a bit higher science for my son, he got the basic idea. He also enjoyed using the interactive panels to learn about the brain. Boys and brains!

Asgard Stars Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N at Discovery Times Square

We learned how to use a star map to find stars in different solar system. My son tried to find Asgard but needs a few more tries. Those stars are vast!

Iron Man Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N at Discovery Times Square

We learn different ways to operate Iron Man’s suit. Talk about AWESOME. At one station my was able to operate the Iron Man glove. At another station he virtually suited up and learned how to fly. He also made Iron man dance a little bit. LOL

There's A LOT of science and technology build into the exhibit. Which is something as a parent I was impressed with. While it's nice that my son enjoyed the super hero action theme of the exhibit, he also learned tons in an educational way.

Leading EdTech innovator Gamedesk created S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) based educational pathways for the exhibition, bringing to life the science behind Marvel Super Heroes. Also NASA, the Science & Entertainment Exchange program of the National Academy of Sciences, Neuroverse, and Thwacke all collaborated on Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. .

For families who are more fans of the movie, the Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N exhibit has lots for them to enjoy also.

You can check out the intelligence files, guarded artifacts recovered after the Battle of New York such as Captain America’s Birth Pod, the Tesseract Portal Device, Loki’s Scepter, a hermetically sealed Chitauri and more.

There is SO much for super hero families and Avengers fans to see, do and enjoy at the Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. We highly recommend seeing it.

Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. is one of the largest and most technologically advanced exhibits to open at Discovery Times Square and subsequently in New York City. Within Victory Hill Exhibitions’ production design, the exhibit spans more than 10,000 square feet and incorporates 140 video screens; dozens of large scale touch interfaces, working robotics, augmented reality, and motion response applications.

Tickets are now on sale for Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. exhibition at Discovery Times Square, now through January 5, 2015. For tickets to Marvel’s Avengers: S.T.A.T.I.O.N.
