Making a Healthy Breakfast & 12 Netflix "Home Sick" Movies #NetflixKids #StreamTeam

Right now along with cold and snowy weather, I'm trying to deal with it being the peak time for flu and colds. This time of the year can be tough for everyone but especially young child. So to help keep my son healthy (and warm), I make sure he eats as healthy as possible.

Making a Healthy Breakfast

I'm part of Netflix #StreamTeam program. While I have been compensated to share monthly information and news about their service, any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.

While getting a child to eat healthy isn't always easy, it's not impossible. A good way to get your child more interested in healthy meals and snacks is by allowing them to help with a kid friendly recipe. After seeing the Silly Face Pancakes in "5 Healthy Snacks that will Make Kids Smile", I was inspired to make our own version.

Making a Healthy Breakfast

My son loves pancakes and bananas so I combined them for a fun breakfast project. I also included tangerines and raisins to help boost my son's immunity.

Making a Healthy Breakfast

Once everything was ready, my son started making his pancake face.

Making a Healthy Breakfast

I expected him to make a regular smiley face but he surprised me by making a monster face. Horns and all. That's a boy for you.

It wasn't long till the "monster" pancakes were all gone and it was time for us to relax with our fully tummies. To help drive the "being healthy" message home, I decided to watch " Sesame Street: The Ten Commandments of Health" available on Netflix.

While I used Netflix in an educational way to teach my son about being healthy, if and when he gets a cold, using Netflix can easy switch to help me comfort him. When a child is home sick there's little they can do. But if you have Netflix, you can snuggle with them and enjoy movies that are perfect sick day entertainment.

  1. I think allowing the kids to "play" with their food like that is a fantastic way to get them to eat. That way, it' their own creation and they can devour it how they want to!

And PS- Netflix is a life saver when I have sick kiddos home with me :)

  5. I love this selection. In the olden days, it was rough with a sick kid in the middle of the night, there was nothing on. And I am talking 8 years ago!
PS, I love the Magic School Bus!
