Our Donation to The Bronx Zoo "Toy Drive" for Military Families

Thanksgiving is this week and then its straight on to Christmas and getting (and giving) presents. It's sad to say but some families won't have presents this year. For families like those I'm so thankful for organizations, like The Bronx Zoo, that hold toy drives to help.

Our Donation for The Bronx Zoo Toy Drive for Military Families

Please Note: I'm a 2013 Bronx Zoo Blog Ambassador. No other compensation was received. Views expressed are always 100% my own.

As a Bronx Zoo Blog Ambassador, I received information about their toy drive to share with my readers. But I wanted to do more then just share the information. I wanted to participate also. So during our visit to the Bronx Zoo this week, we took along a toy to donate.

My son was very proud to be able to "give" a toy so another child can have a present this year. The process of donating a toy to the drive is very simple. You just take a new, unwrapped toy to the window and give it in. Then at the end of the drive, the toys are given to families that I'm sure will be very thankful.

As a thank you for your generosity, when you make a qualifying donation of a new, unwrapped toy at any of WCS’s wildlife parks between Saturday, Nov. 16 and Tuesday, Dec. 31, you will receive a free ticket to the Bronx Zoo or New York Aquarium depending on location.

The toys donated at the Bronx Zoo will benefit Bronx military families. Toys will be collected through the end of December and will be distributed by the Borough President’s office to local veterans and active-duty members of the military and their families.

Toys will also be collected at the other WCS wildlife parks.

Toys collected at Central Park Zoo and Queens Zoo will be donated to families in need within the communities they serve.

Prospect Park Zoo and the New York Aquarium will collect toys to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy. Toys donated at the Prospect Park Zoo and New York Aquarium will receive a ticket to the New York Aquarium.

Disclaimer: ONE general admission ticket to the Bronx Zoo will be provided for a donation of one new, unwrapped toy at the Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, or Queens Zoo. ONE general admission ticket to the New York Aquarium will be provided for a donation of one new, unwrapped toy at the New York Aquarium or Prospect Park Zoo. Limit of four tickets per family, valid 1/01/14–6/30/14. All WCS decisions final. Promotion available from 11/15/13 - 12/31/13. May not be combined with any other offer.
