To promote the opening of their newly transformed Terminal 4 at JFK, Delta Airlines has opened a fun pop-up space, Delta T4 Xperience (T4X), in Soho where you can enjoy a "terminal" experience. You can also enjoy a lunch inspired by a few of Delta's international destinations on the 2nd floor in the Delta Sky Club!

Before enjoying lunch in the 2nd floor, I enjoyed some of the 1st floor activities. In this "virtual" terminal I could relax in the comfy waiting seats, check out how fast the check in system is, and buy a few travel necessitates for my flight.

There is literally a vending machine wall of items you can buy to enhance your travel experience including passport holders, heads phone, tripods for your cameras and even LEGO blocks for the kids (or an adult).

Also on the first floor is baggage claim conveyor belt area, where from 12noon to 2pm, you can purchase one of the mini Delta suitcase lunch boxes for $4. There's even a flight information screen that displays the daily menu. After getting your suitcase lunch, you can leave to enjoy it outside or go up stairs to the 2nd floor to lounge and enjoy.

It was on the 2nd floor Delta Sky Club, where I was invited to sample the sandwiches and salads.

Among its many offerings, T4X will serve four daily lunch items that are inspired by the many international destinations Delta services from JFK, including London, Rome, Istanbul, Athens, and more; it will also serve selections created by Chef Michelle Bernstein, consulting chef for Delta’s International BusinessElite flights.

Sandwiches
  • Paris: “Jambon Beurre,” with slices of French Ham, Gruyere, and Sweet Butter on a Crusty Baguette Roll
  • Rome: Basil Parmesan Chicken on Focaccia with Fresh Spinach & Oven Dried Tomato Spread
  • San Juan: “El Pernil” with Garlic and Lemon Roasted Pulled Pork, Mojo Mayo on an Onion-Poppy Brioche
Salads

The sandwiches and salads were REALLY good and made for a great lunch! If you are in the NYC area, stop by the Delta T4 Xperience (T4X) before it's gone. It's a fun and yummy experience.

The Delta T4 Xperience (T4X) Pop-Up is open to the public Tuesday-Sunday, May 1-22, from noon – 2pm at 376 West Broadway (at Broome Street).
