Before my "Transition into a Social Parent" presentation with The Parenting Aspect Network, I took some time to hangout in the Scholastic Store. It's really such a fun store and my son loves exploring all the areas with their books and toys. During February, I was hoping to attend the store's Chinese New Year event but sadly we couldn't fit it in our schedule.

But since we were in the store, I took the time to find some books that highlighted the Asian culture. While I knew the Scholastic Store had tons of educational books, I wasn't sure how much "cultural themed" books the store might have. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased when I found many books not only for the Asian culture but for the black culture also.
Since February was both Asian New Year and Black History Month, the Scholastic Store could be enjoyed by both cultures. Love that.
Here are a few of the items I found in the Scholastic Soho Store
The Elephant's Friend and Other Tales from Ancient India by Marcia Williams
He's Got the Whole World in His Hands by Kadir Nelson
Stone Soup by Jon J Muth
eeBoo Friends Say Hello Tray Puzzle (12 pc)
As you can see there's lots of items in the Scholastic Store that you can use to teach your child (and family) about the Asian, Black or any other culture. There's something for everyone! That's one of the reasons why my son and I like Scholastic so much!
Please Note: No compensation was received for this post nor did Scholastic require me to post about these items. I just wanted to highlight cultural items I found in the Scholastic Store. Any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.
