Marking the final piece in building its creative team, LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester — set to open on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Ridge Hill in Yonkers — announced that 12 of the metropolitan area’s most creative and energetic children have been selected to join its Junior Construction Panel.

LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester Opens March 27, 2013

The announcement comes on the heels of completing a month-and-a-half-long search via the attraction’s Facebook page, which received more than 120 submissions from LEGO® fans vying for a coveted spot on the panel.

The children — who range in age, from 6- to 11-years-old — are all incredible LEGO enthusiasts and each submitted videos showcasing their passion for building with LEGO bricks and impressed LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester’s panel of judges with their amazing creations.

As members of the Junior Construction Panel, the children will receive a special “box of imagination,” an annual pass to the attraction and work alongside LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester Master Model Builder Mike Tocidlowski, to provide input on what features could be added and give their official approval that the attraction is ready to open.

The children selected to the panel are: Mark and Thomas Gibney of Scarsdale, NY; Jack Pennachio of Eastchester, NY; Adam Lupatkin of New Castle; Alex Luis of Tarrytown, NY; Belladona Rodriguez of Beacon, NY; Hunter Lapari of Clarkstown, NY; Jacob Brown of Montrose, NY; Maddie Miller of New City, NY; Brian Kinaham of West Redding, CT; Samantha Murabito of Larchmont, NY; and Jullian Sweeney of Bronx, NY.
