Choosing A Kindergarten - Wordless Wednesday

These past few days this has been my reading material

new york city kindergarten elementary school directory

It's both the best and scariest book I've been required to read in my life. Pray I make the right choices.

Do you have a child going into kindergarten this year? How did you/will you chose the right kindergarten for your family?

  1. We're small town so we've got only one public school option

  2. It boggles my brain that there is a BOOK of kindergartens for you to choose! We live in a one school community so the choice was simple. Good luck with your search!

  5. my sons have all gone to our local public school. My oldest has autism so to have his therapies we needed to stay at school.

  7. He goes to the public school in the district we live in. I LOVED his kinder teacher - and I still drop in to say hi to her even though he is in 3rd grade now!

  8. None of these decisions are permanent--you make the best choice you can, and if it doesn't work, you can always switch next year :) deep breaths!

  9. We never got to decide where our children went, the school system decides it all.BUT like Jessica said, its not permanent, so if it doesnt work out you can always change it :D

  14. I am in the same boat. We applied for 2 schools (public) that are a lottery type scenario for if you get in. I am keeping my fingers crossed! I hope you can narrow down your options and find a good fit for your boy. Good luck!

  15. Good luck on your decisions! My son starts preschool this coming year but choosing his was a no-brainer for us because his friends already scouted out the best in town last year so they already go there and it's close to our house. Score!

  18. I'll be doing this in a year. It's hard to believe our babies are growing up and going to kindergarten. They grow up so fast!

  19. How did it go?
We homeschool but choose charter schools for online. Even if we sent them there are no choices here where we live. I remember growing up in NYC, it was always a process for Jr High and a test for High school. Pretty nail-biting.
