Travel + Leisure Global Bazaar Comes to New York

Always wanted to travel the world and learn about different cultures? Here's your chance to learn about traveling the Globe! Now in its second year, the Travel + Leisure Global Bazaar is designed to feel like an exotic marketplace with visual, experiential and sensory surprises from all around the world brought into one space.

Travel + Leisure, the world’s leading travel magazine brand and returning partner Delta Airlines announced that tickets for the 2012 Travel + Leisure Global Bazaar taking place weekend of September 28 – September 30, 2012 at The Lexington Avenue Armory in New York City, will be available for purchase through Ticketmaster.

This year’s event will also support a great cause, with a percentage of ticket sales from the Travel + Leisure Global Bazaar benefiting Room to Read, which focuses on improving literacy and gender equality in education in the developing world.

Throughout the weekend, visitors to the T+L Global Bazaar will take part in a multicultural interactive event showcasing exotic arts, authentic crafts, fashion and jewelry, food and wine, and live music and performances including:
  1. Celebrity Chef’s on Friday and Saturday Night including: Jose Andres; Tim Love; Johnny Iuzzini; Masaharu Morimoto; Michael White; Jose Garces; Scott Conant

  2. Morocco - Spice Market Moroccan spices – Big barrels of dried spices for guests to take away

  3. Mexico - Tacombi bike cart to serve traditional Corn Esquites with lime & chipotle mayo

  4. Patron - Muddle your own" Rum bar serving caipirinhas and mojitos

  5. Hilton Resorts - Hula lessons, conch blowing lessons, ukele lessons and hair braiding. Sand bracelet making with sand from multiple properties in Florida and Thailand. An aquarium with fish tanks including conch shells and terraccotta air-dry pottery displays from multiple Hilton based destinations including Hawaii, Thailand, Phoenix, etc.

  6. Puerto Rico - Zipline experience inspired by Puerto Rico's Toro Verde zipline, the highest in the world

  7. L-atitude: Global - Shop Global Jewelry from around the world

  8. L 'aviva Home: Global - Series of curated collections featuring handcrafted home wares + accessories from artisans around the globe

  9. Food Trucks - Nuchas Empanadas; Okadaman; Mexicue; Souvlaki

  10. Chile - Rapa Nui men will perform the “Hoko” dance which is an ancestral war dance. Ancestors used dance to intimidate their opponents before they went to battle. Performances to be accompanied by live Rapanui musicians.
Ticket prices will range from $75 for Saturday and Sunday day sessions, to $125 for Friday and Saturday evening sessions, ages 21+. The Tribe Family Opening on Sunday will welcome guests of all ages with complimentary entry for children ages 0-2; $25 ages 13 and under and $75 for 14 and up.
