Preparing for BlogHer 2012 #blogher12

Last week was hard for me in a lot of ways, most of all dealing with a death in the family. As you can imagine my mind and heart have been consumed with my own personal events. But the funny thing about life is that it goes on. You can guess my surprise when I started receiving packages this week to help me prepare for being at the BlogHer 2012 conference later THIS coming week.

I'm going to BlogHer '12

I couldn't believe that BlogHer is almost here. Last time I checked I had a little more then 2 weeks to get ready. Now I'm down to more like 2 days!

2 days to figure schedules, transportation, what to wear and all sorts of odds and ends.

Thankfully some of my odd and ends received a little help thanks to some of the pr agencies I've worked with this year.

Hunter PR clients BlogHer 2012 Survival Kit

Thanks for Hunter PR and some of their clients, I received a BlogHer 2012 Survival Kit. My kit included all sorts of goodies from Honey Bunches of Oats cereal to Scotch home items and 3M screen protector for my smartphone. While these are some small and simple items, seeing them cheered me up. Not to mention those Dole Real Fruit Bites were yummy. Sadly they were enjoyed right away and not saved for BlogHer. *laughing*

GLAD Mom Made Dinner Kit

While I'm on the topic of eating, thanks to MomSelect and their GLAD Mom Made Dinner Kit , I wont have to worry about dinner for my family while I'm at BlogHer. My kit includes Glad FreezerWare Container, some Enchilada ingredients and a Chipotle Chicken Enchiladas recipe card. Again a simple package but I'm grateful for one less thing to worry about next week.

Next week when I go to BlogHer I want my focus to be about connecting and growing. Earlier this year I wrote about my professional blogging goals and what I wanted to accomplish this year. When I did a mid year check-in, I'm proud to say I did accomplish some of my goal but there's still lots more I want to do. Lots more. I'm looking forward to attending sessions to help me get back on track with my blogging goals.

I'm also looking forward to reconnecting with online and offline friends. Twitter and Facebook has been great at leading me to so many amazing people. This will be my chance to put faces to twitter names, have more discussion about a personal Facebook status and to finally have a "moment" with friends I seem to keep missing while dashing around in my daily life.

After dealing with such a hard week, I'm looking forward to BlogHer, and yes attending the parties, but most important attending as part of the blogging community. This coming week I will need the love and support of my community and BlogHer is a great conference to receive it.

If you'll be at BlogHer 12 also, make sure to stop me and say hello!

Please Note: I received the mention items from the pr agencies but no compensation or request to write about them. I chose to share about them while writing this post. Views expressed are always 100% my own.

  3. You have considerate and thoughtful PR people. As you stated they're small packages, but they do pack a punch! I wish I would meet you at BlogHer this year, but I won't be attending. Maybe next year!
