A Family Day at Sesame Place

Last weekend my sister and I planned a family trip to Sesame Place and we had so much fun! My sister and I grew up watching Sesame Street and of course love the show and it's characters. Now that we're both moms, it's our turn to share our Sesame Street love with our family. One of the best places to do this is of course Sesame Place!

While my son had visited Sesame Place before, my little niece hasn't had the joy. My older niece hasn't been back in a while and was overdue. Of course this gave us a great reason for a family road trip.

Bright and early Saturday morning we loaded the kids in the car and headed out. After a stop for family breakfast at IHOP, we soon arrived at Sesame Place. We made sure to bring along our Britax B-Agile Double Stroller, for when the kids knocked out from all the fun later, and off we went.

My sister and niece headed to the Slippery Slopes water ride for some fun while the rest of the family watched.

Then my sister joined us online for a ride on the Flyin' Fish which had Elmo planes. My son loved this ride because he could press the button and make the plane go up and down. My little niece also had a great time and kicked up a fuss when the ride was over and she had to leave.

Next ride was the Peek-a-Bug which was shaped like a cute caterpillar. While my little niece was excited for the ride, my son wasn't to sure. But my sister reassured him and soon after the ride started he had a smile on his face.

After that my son was brave and joined my sister and niece on the Blast Off ride. After they were all strapped in, I waited for the crying since this ride was a bit more mature then the others. But the ride went up and down without an kids crying. I was so proud of my son. My little niece just laughed and clapped her hands. Clearly she's a bit of a daredevil.

After all that fun on the rides, it was time to cool off so we headed over to The Count Splash Castle for some water fun. With everyone in bathing suits lots of plashing ad water play was enjoyed. For my part I sat in one of the lounge chairs and enjoyed relaxing while watching my sister and the kids.

Soon it was time to eat so we headed over to Cookie's Cafe for a family meal. I really like that the kids meal comes with a plate and cup you can take home. Who doesn't want to take Elmo and the other Sesame characters home?

After lunch it was time for photo opps with some of the Sesame Street characters you can find in the park. We posed with Bert and Ernie, who were very sweet with the kids. Then we posed with Elmo, who my sister was super excited to see. I think she was more excited then the kids.

At that point the kids were nodding off so that was the signal to end the day and started the ride back home. But there was still so much we didn't get to do. There's the whole OTHER side of the park with different rides and activities to enjoy. Not to mention I didn't get a photo opp with Abby Cadabby! Clearly we need to plan a return visit. Don't you agree?

We had a great time at Sesame Place and your family will also. You can visit Sesame Place during the summer AND in the fall. A Sesame Place Season Pass allows you to experience all the special events, including The Count’s Spooktacular in October, during the spring and fall operating schedule.
