GoalForIt.com Chart Makes Chores Fun & Easy Review

This year my son will grow from being a little boy into being a young man. Like most parents, I'd like my child to grow up learning to be "responsible" but how to teach this to a young child in a fun and easy way? I recently learned about the website Goalforit.com and some of their online tools, like their Chore Chart, which can help children of all ages learn essential skills in a fun and rewarding way.

Goal For It
So how does the site work? First it's free and simple to join the site. After logging in then you chose what you'd like to do like making a Chore Chart for your child. Starting a Chore Chart is a simple step process the includes adding your child's info: name, age, boy or girl, etc. Then you chose your theme.

I like that the site had categories with different themes for me to choose from when making a chart. Using the chart theme preview, I can see how my chart looked using the different themes

Once I have my themes I just click and add the chores to my son's Chore Chart. There's a wide range of goals shown in tiles to add to a Chore Chart. You can chose from Chores and Responsibilities, Behavior or you can create your own "tile" I like that I can list goals that are simple and easy for my son to reach like
  • Wake Up On Time
  • Put Things Away
  • Practice Reading

I can then keep track of how well my son is doing with progress "stickers" for each day. Then at the end of the week, I can use result "stickers" to either congratulate my son for doing well or encourage him to keep trying. While keeping track of goals online is nice, for parents like me who prefer to hang charts in a child's view, there's a simple print option.

There's lots of other ways parents can use these FREE Chore Chart. Other important lessons you can use to teach kids, tweens & teens include:
  • Responsibility; A Chore Chart is an ideal way to help your kids feel like they are making a contribution to their family by doing their part around the house.
  • Understanding right from wrong; Setting behavior goals is an important way to help children strengthen their character and judgment.
  • Healthy Habits;Teaching good habits involving nutrition and physical activity are the cornerstone of prevent obesity in children and adolescents.
