Did you notice my new "TropiMomma" Ambassador badge in my sidebar? I'm so excited about being invited to be a Tropicana "TropiMomma" Ambassador. Since I've used Tropicana brand of products for years becoming part of their mom ambassador programs was a great fit. So what will I do and share as "TropiMomma" Ambassador? So many great things!
One of the first exciting opportunities I experience as a "TropiMomma" Ambassador was interviewing Giuliana Rancic for the Tropicana Trop50 Fabulous Lemonade Event. Hopefully you had a chance to taste the Tropicana Trop50 juice beverages since Trop50 delivers the goodness of juice with 50% less sugar and calories, and no artificial sweeteners.
Hopefully you've also entered the Trop50 “50 Fabulous Wishes” contest: People can enter a wish to win $1,000 to share with a deserving friend from July 3- Aug. 31; for every wish, Tropicana will donate $10 to Dress for Success (up to $50,000)
But that's not the only cool thing Tropicana is currently doing. As a mom with a child starting preschool this year I was excited to learn about the Tropicana Pure Premium’s Fruit & Veg Pledge. When you take the pledge to get more fruits and veggies on Tropicana's Facebook page by 12/31/11, you help kids in need get a good morning since Tropicana will donate one 8-oz. glass of orange juice to schools in need through the USDA’s School Breakfast & Summer Food Service programs (up to 184,375 fruit servings)
But it's not only kids that should start their day with a nutritious breakfast. Since becoming part of this program I learned that 1 in 4 Americans start the day off in a bad mood. Worse then that, 34 million people skip breakfast regularly. What?!
To help share information to tackle these alarming rates, I'm joining the Tropicana OJ Express at Grand Central Station when it steams into New York City to educate residents about the important nutritional role of breakfast. During the event dietitian Elizabeth Somer, RD will offer quick and simple tips to teach local families about the power of breakfast.
There's also some free fun activities happening at locations across the city where visitors can:
- Sing the “Good Morning” song for a chance to win a year’s supply of orange juice and $10,000
- Take the Fruit & Veg pledge
- Get a free mini-breakfast of Tropicana Pure Premium OJ and Quaker Oatmeal Squares (first 500 attendees)
- Spin the Nutrition IQ Wheel win, play the bottle ring toss game to win fun prizes
